1 O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord,
Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving,
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
Psalm 95:1-2 (NASB)
All across the church, we can be heard singing and making joyful music to the Lord. Music at FBC is not entertainment, but rather an expression of worship. Just as God's Word instructs us to sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (Colossians
3:16), we sing a variety of songs from the most ancient hymns to the newest songs being written for the Church. We sing songs that tell the Gospel from Creation all the way to Jesus' return and eternal reign. We sing songs that
praise God for who He is and what He has done (Isaiah 12:5) as well as songs that address each other for the building up of the church (1 Corinthians 14:26).
Our Discovery Tots (Preschool) and Discovery Kids (K-5th Grade) have a time of singing on Sunday mornings. From the earliest age, we want our young ones to learn songs of faith and truth and to know that Jesus loves them (Luke 18:16).
Our Elevate Band grows in their worship leadership by leading on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm for the Elevate student ministry (Grades 6-12). These students also occasionally join the FBC Praise Band, which
leads the congregation in singing praises to God during Sunday Morning Worship. Although our music is band-led, the sound of the congregation passionately singing praises to God is what defines our worship. The band has a rotation
of singers and instrumentalists including but not limited to: male and female vocalists, acoustic and electric guitars, drums/percussion, electric bass, piano and keyboards. We occasionally have other instrumental and vocal ensembles
help lead in worship.
The Audio/Video Team is an extension of the Music Ministry. One A/V team serves the live congregation and one team serves the online streaming congregation. A/V team members operate slides,
soundboards, cameras and lights.
We have a quarterly Night of Worship, in which we focus on singing, praying and reading scripture. We thank God for His blessings and we pray for the needs of our church and our community. It is such a joy to praise
Him with thankfulness and it is a comfort to share our burdens as we present our needs and prayers to Him (Philippians 4:6).
